very bad news

we were just called by our agency, we will not be leaving to pick up our daughter, for some reason they gave her a x-ray today and said it looked "suspicious", this means a couple months to wait for the culture to grow then 6 months more of treatment in Ethiopia if she has TB, her skin test was negative, so we are devastated, we are packed don't know what to do but cry and cry......

  1. What??? You are kidding me! Oh my gosh Tara I am so incredibly sorry that this has happened! Why on earth would they give her an xray when she already passed the TB test? ugh! This is just maddening. We will be praying that the culture comes out negative.

  3. Oh no. I have never heard of this. Why did they do that? There are several reasons why this is maddening. Even if a child did have a suspicious reading or even did have a positive TB test, they need to be here with their families to receive treatment. It's okay if she goes on a plane for goodness sake...they don't test every person boarding the planes in Ethiopia for TB...so it's a risk no matter what. Well, I know that God moves mountains. I will pray that he moves this one for you and for your daughter. May you, your daughter, and the rest of your family be covered in prayer and blessings during this trying time.
